Denmark
Denmark is a magical town in Western Australia, on the Amazing South Coast just a little west of Albany.
A classic small rural town, Denmark was established as a timber town in 1895. More recently, the picturesque township, spectacular forests and mild climate have helped make it a tourist mecca, with all sorts of interesting businesses springing up to service them, including boutique wineries and breweries.
The area produces world-quality wine and range of fine food products. There is a strong art, crafts and music scene and a busy events calendar.
The population of 6,000 is boosted by weekend residents who work elsewhere and swells dramatically at tourist peaks.
The Denmark Visitor Centre in the main street has information, maps and tours to book.
